On April 22, 2010, the TQ-Group hosted the 2nd TQ Academy Day at the headquarters in Seefeld near Munich. E²MS TQ-Systems and TQ-Components, the specialist for Embedded Systems, welcomed more than one hundred guests of their clientele. The interested visitors came mainly from the areas of management, purchasing and electronics development. The TQ Academy Day offered a varied program including presentations, workshops and tours through the company. Up to six different program points were held at the same time. Fully booked events and an entirely positive feedback from the visitors confirm the concept so that TQ will plan the next TQ Academy Day for 2011.
15 different presentations and workshops presented concentrated knowledge about topics of highest interest for the electronics market. Against the background of the global finance and economic crises, Prof. Dr. Willi Muschinski, Niederrhein University, illustrated clearly all aspects of a systematic risk management. Prof. Dr. Gerd Hirzinger, German Aerospace Center, presented the most recent research results and their implementation in the field of robotics and mechatronics. His lecture ranged from aerospace to surgery to the car of the future.
The lecturers of TQ-Systems gave insights in theory and practical implementation of fundamental questions and solutions in electronics development and production. Discussed were topics such as traceability, obsolescence management, design for manufacturing (DFM), EMV design, and process-controlled quality assurance under consideration of Six Sigma aspects.
Lectures about the embedded-technology completed the spectrum of the TQ Academy Day: The presentation “Make or buy?” compared system integration and module solution and provided a guideline how to find the most beneficial implementation. During a workshop, the experts from TQ-Components illustrated the way from the Starterkit to the target system. A presentation about the versatile possibilities with low power performance based on Intel architecture and about real-time extensions for embedded Linux completed the complex subject matter of embedded modules.
During the breaks, the guests took the opportunity to visit the new TQ show room. The displayed TQ products and reference products from different customers allowed the visitors to get a good overview of TQ’s capabilities and know-how. The beautiful spring weather invited guests and lecturers to continue their exchange of knowledge and experience on the generous roof terrace.
